SD1 - Maximizing the Resource Management
Capabilities of Microsoft Project |
|
This class will provide the attendee with an
in depth understanding of the resource management capabilities of
Microsoft Project and Microsoft Project Server 2007. The course will
begin by providing a detailed presentation on the fundamentals of the
resourcing engine of Microsoft Project, focusing on the practical,
real-world benefits of using the tool.
Some previous knowledge of Microsoft Project
is preferred, but not required. |

Essential Skills for Managing Success |

The class will help
participants focus on solutions to communication issues and
opportunities. Each unit models and practices sound learning and
interactive approaches.

Project Managers frequently find themselves
with the responsibility for project completion without the authority to
manage the effort. Having the skills to effectively negotiate and
influence decision making can mean the difference between success and
failure. Through a collection of role plays, self-assessments and
practice sessions, this course will provide participants with the tools
needed to effectively work with stakeholders and manage situations
without formal authority. The course provides participants with an
understanding of the dynamics of influencing people, how to expand their
sphere of influence, how to negotiate with confidence and the
opportunity to practice a variety of tools and techniques. |

projects can be a challenge no matter how your company is organized. In
matrix organizations-which are becoming more and more popular-the
challenges often seem overwhelming. In this class, you'll learn
best practices to deal with those challenges and improve your ability to
deliver projects, negotiate for resources, influence others, and
delegate project tasks. You'll also learn techniques for managing team
members who do not normally report to you, including resolving conflict
and providing performance feedback. |
